Royal Marine Commandos and National Crime Agency officers have intercepted and boarded the Russian tanker Smyrtos in the English Channel. This operation marks the first time UK forces have boarded a vessel to enforce sanctions against Russia's shadow fleet, which is used to bypass international oil export restrictions.
