Western reef heron spotted in Caernarfon in a UK first
A western reef heron has been identified at Y Foryd in Caernarfon, marking the first time the species has been recorded in the UK. Ornithologist Simon Hugheston-Roberts spotted the bird during a routine walk, likely after it was blown off course by southern winds, drawing hundreds of birdwatchers to the north Wales coast.
