Prostate cancer patients in England to receive precision radiotherapy in just five sessions
Men with low- and intermediate-risk prostate cancer in England will soon be able to receive high-powered precision radiotherapy in just five sessions, down from the usual 20. This treatment, known as SABR, targets cancer more effectively and reduces side-effects. NHS England expects all 48 radiotherapy centres to offer the treatment within weeks, helping thousands of men return to their daily lives more quickly.
