A new strategy to eradicate bovine tuberculosis in England by 2038 will see cattle vaccination introduced alongside the end of badger culling by 2029. By shifting the focus to cattle-to-cattle transmission and improved testing, the plan aims to reduce the annual slaughter of 20,000 infected animals and provide a more sustainable path forward for farmers.
