Isle of Wight festival focuses on nature with beach cleans and community events
The Isle of Wight Biosphere Festival is offering a different kind of summer event, with no big-name headliners but more than 100 community-led activities celebrating the island’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status. Running from 27 June to 5 July, the third-year festival includes wildlife walks, beach cleans and local events across libraries, woodlands and nature reserves. Festival producer Martha Henson said the aim was to raise awareness of the island’s special status, which recognises the balance between people, wildlife and sustainable living.
