A proposal to convert the historic Maker Heights barracks in Cornwall into homes has been refused. The site, a key cultural hub, has become a significant creative space hosting music events, art studios, and local businesses. Opponents, including the Rame Conservation Trust, argued the site is no longer redundant and is vital to the local community.
