New memorial installed in Ramsgate to honour civilian heroes of Dunkirk evacuation
A new memorial has been unveiled in Ramsgate's Royal Harbour to honour the civilian heroes involved in the Dunkirk evacuation during WW2. The memorial features five new silhouettes, joining an existing figure of a soldier, to recognise the bravery of civilian skippers, RNLI crews, and others who played a crucial role in the evacuation. The project was a collaborative effort between local organisations and charities.
